EF Singapore Refund Policy & Procedures
The cancellation and withdrawal paragraphs in the terms and conditions form part of the EF refund policy. Students receive refund information in the schools brochure before any contract is entered into, before any monies are paid.
All refunds can only be made by the EF office or representative where the course fees were paid and in the currency that was paid, unless this is impractical. You may nominate in writing a third party to receive the refund. The EF office or representative will process all refunds with in 30 days of receiving notification from you. The enrolment fee, any courier fee and the optional cancellation insurance premium are non-refundable.
The program prices shown with each school description compromise of two elements; the course fee (50%) for tuition and the student services fee (50%) which includes accommodation. The course fee is fully refundable if the student cancels prior to arrival at the school. Additional refunds will be made from the student services fee as follows:
- If the student cancels 45 days or more before the start of the course they will receive a full refund, except the enrolment, cancellation, insurance and courier fee.
- If the student cancels less than 45 days prior to arrival at the school EF reserves the right to retain 40% of the student services fee (up to a maximum of $1000) to cover the cost of prepaid accommodation and transportation.
If a student wishes to withdraw from their course after arrival at school, they must give the EF School Director at least four weeks advance notice. The student will receive a full refund for all remaining weeks after the four week notice period.
The student must sign a notification of change form, this is proof of withdrawal/ cancellation and the student should keep this until their refund is received. Refunds can only be made by the EF office or representative where the course fees where paid. The EF office or representative will process refunds within 4 weeks of notification. Refunds will be made in the same currency in which the fees were paid and to the party who has entered into the contract with EF, unless that party directs EF in writing to pay the refund to someone else. A statement explaining how the refund has been calculated will be provided.
If students arrive late or are absent during their course no refund will be granted. Periods of absence may not be made up with free extension of the course. EF will consider at it’s discretion, a partial refund in cases where there is evidential proof of exceptional and extenuating circumstances.
In the event that the World Health Organisation (WHO), or an international governmental health authority issues a country-specific travel warning or forbids travel, an EF students have the right to postpone or re-book travel within a period of 365 days. If students wish to cancel, the above stated cancellation stipulations apply.
In the unlikely event that EF Singapore is unable to deliver your course in full, you will be offered a refund of all the course money you have paid to date. The refund will be paid to you within 2 weeks of the day on which the course ceased being provided. Alternatively, you may be offered enrolment in an alternative course by another EF School at no extra cost to you. You have the right to choose whether you would prefer a full refund of course fees, or to accept a place in another course. If you choose placement in another course, we will ask you to sign a document to indicate that you accept the placement.
